Second order statistics for SSC receiver over α-μ fading channels

The second order statistics for switch and stay combining (SSC) receiver is analyzed in this paper. The level crossing rate and the average fade duration of the SSC combiner output signal are determined in the presence of α-μ fading at the input. The obtained expressions are in closed form. The results are shown graphically for different fading parameters.
