摘要
A nano biocomposite coating was deposited on 316L stainless steel via an electrophoretic process. The optimized coating voltage and time for the biocomposite coating on the used substrate were found to be 30 V and 90 seconds, respectively. Coated substrates were sintered in different sintering atmospheres at 700°C for 1 h. The corrosion performance of the coated substrates was characterized by cyclic potentiodynamic polarization using a stimulated body fluid. The coated substrates were also characterized by X-ray diffraction, a tap adhesion test, and the Vickers microhardness test. The in vitro cytotoxicity studies for cell viability were carried out using MC3T3-E1 osteoblast cells. These studies revealed an improved cell attachment and viability on the nano biocomposite coated substrates compared to that of the uncoated substrate by controlling the discharge of metal ions from the metal surface.
