Objective To determine the hemostatic effect of Shuning sponge. Method 72 SD rats with hemorrhage surffered from hepatic trauma were randomized into three groups and managed with different hemostatic agent: Shuning sponge group (n=24), oxidized cellulose group (n=24, control groupⅠ) and gelatin sponge group (n=24, control groupⅡ). Hemostatic time and total blood loss were recorded and compared in the three groups under different coagulation states. Results ①Under different coagulation states, the hemostatic time in Shuning sponge group was significantly shorter than those in the other two groups ( P 0.05). ②Before and after anti coagulation therapy, there was no significant difference of hemostatic ability in Shuning sponge group, but there were significant differences in the control groups ( P 0.05). Conclusion In the hepatic traumatic hemorrhage models Shuning sponge is superior than the other two agents in hemostasis under different coagulation states.
