A nesting algorithm with multistage optimization for rectangular blocks is proposed.In the first stage,all the sizes and numbers of raw material plates should be estimated before the nesting and be marked after be calculated.Then the waiting product blocks with weighting factors beyond the threshold value should be arranged on them averagely.After this,the nesting layouts can be adjusted dynamically in terms of the weighting factors and combination factors.Thus,the algorithmic complexity can be reduced greatly and the nesting solutions can also be improved.Furthermore the utilization rate for each plate is increased.In the second stage,the remainder of waiting product blocks should be arranged on the raw plates reasonably.The adjacent factor should be considered to decreased wastage scraps of materials while the nesting process is going to the end.Through many practical case studies,the system designed in this way can obtain nesting layouts to meet industrial demands,and proves its efficiency,effectiveness and usefulness.
