Study of TDI grafting ramie fiber under ultrasonic

Graft copolymerization of TDI onto ramie fibers under ultrasonic condition is studied using raw ramie,mercerized degummed ramie and ramie yarn materials.The graft copolymers are investigated using FT-IR,UV and SEM.Experimental results show that the optimum reaction conditions of grafting between the ramie and TDI is after treatmem of 15% NaOH for 20h,under ultrasonic,H2SO4 as catalyst,with the bath ratio at 1∶30.The ratio of TDI to raw ramie is 0.5∶1,at 50℃ for 8 h,the grafting rate can reach 23.4%.The ratio of TDI to mercerized degummed ramie is 2∶1,at 50℃ for 10 h,the grafting rate can reach to 44.7%.The ratio of TDI to ramie yarn is 1∶1,60℃ for 10h,the grafting rate can come to 39.6%.
