Preparation and properties of tri -metal Cu-Ni-Cr catalyst for hydrogenation of oils and fats

Properties of tri metal(Cu Ni Cr),bi metal(Cu Ni)and single metal(Ni)catalysts were compared under the same hydrogenation condition.It was showed that when activity of the catalyst was increased by regulating its formulation,its selectivity would decrease;but both activity and selectivity could be increased by regulating hydrogenation condition.It was also shown that activity of tri metal catalyst was higher than that of bi metal one,and selectivity of Cu Ni Cr catalyst was higher than that of nickel catalyst.solid fat index of the oil hydrogenated by tri metal catalyst was comparable to that treated by single metal catalyst.
