Antioxidative activity of flavonoids from folium perillae(purple & green leaves)

Folium perillae,the leaves of the plant perilla,is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine and also a kind of food.The assay of antioxidative activity of the flavonoids from folium perillae(purple leaves and green leaves)were performed.With the experiments of scavenging O_2~(·-) and H_2O_2,the comparison of reducing power with BHA,and the effects of the flavonoids on the autoxidation of lipids,the antioxidative activity of flavonoids from folium perillae was evaluated.And these experiments suggest that the flavonoids from folium perillae are good antioxidant chemicals,and the flavonoids from the green leaves are better than that from the purple leaves.
