The occurrence and development of malignant tumors are closely related with the mutation events.Detect-ing mutagens exposure to the human environment is dependent on the mutagenicity test.Using hypoxanthine guanine phospho-ribosyl transferase(HPRT) gene as a reporter gene, the HPRT mutation test is one of the few important mutagenicity tests.Due to its unique biological characteristics, the HPRT test gradually has become the ideal study target of genetic mutation mecha-nism and repair mechanism. The HPRT gene mutation analysis has gradually become a very valuable and widely used biologi-cal dosimeter. However, the HPRT gene mutation detection is affected by many factors, such as high doses, ray causes not only single genetic damage,in addition the HPRT spontaneous mutation frequency is affected by age, number of samples and so on.Therefore, the mutations frequency of HPRT can not completely reflect the relationship between degree of injury and dose.
