Clinical study of treatment of chronic eczema by modified Taohong SiwuTang

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modified Taohong Siwu Tang and the mechanism in the treatment of chronic eczema.Methods: According to strict inclusion criteria,100 patients with blood deficiency and wind-dryness chronic eczema were randomly divided into treatment group and control group equally.The treatment group took modified Taohong Siwu Tang orally,and the control group took cetirizine orally.The improvement of eczema skin lesions were observed with PASI score before and after four weeks of the treament,as well as indicators of serum SOD and MDA changes were tested.Results: The clinical improvement of chronic eczema in treatment group(the total effective rate was 82.00%) was significantly higher than that in control group(the total effective rate was 52.00%),and serum SOD was higher than before treatment,MDA was lower than before treatment(P0.01).Conclusion: Modified Taohong Siwu Tang could effectively improve the clinical symptoms and signs of chronic eczema,and its mechanism was likely to reduce the content of serum MDA and to increase the content of serum SOD,which improved the oxidative state to play the therapeutic effects.
