Since 1970s, Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) has been emphasized by some linguists in Britain on its widely disclosure of social meaning and ideology through analysis of the public discourse. This paper attempts to give a brief review of the background and development of CDA to indicate its prospective application in language teaching and the analysis of current discourses.
