<italic>Herpesvirus saimiri:</italic> VII. Induction of Malignant Lymphoma in New Zealand White Rabbits<xref ref-type="fn" rid="fn2"><sup>2</sup></xref>

Herpesvirus saimiri and squirrel monkey heart isolate, a closely related strain of H. saimiri, induced malignant lymphomas in New Zealand White rabbits in as few as 17 days by a single intravenous inoculation. The duration of the disease in rabbits varied from 17 to 149 days. Both light and electron microscopy revealed a close resemblance between these rabbit lymphomas and H. saimiri-induced lymphomas in monkeys.
