This paper describes the experiment of using discharge plasma to decompose xylene. The test was performed in a wire-coaxial reactor. Important parameters which influence removal efficiency have been investigated, including peak voltage, inlet xylene concentration and residence time. The results show that the removal efficiency increases with the increment of peak voltage and residence time and decreases with the increment of inlet concentration. The maximum decomposition efficiency of xylene reaches 71.7%.
