Study on the Properties of Waterborne Polyurethane Modified by Epoxy Resin

Series of waterborne polyurethane latex was prepared with isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI),polyether polyol(N220),polyester polyol(POL-220),epoxy resin(E-51) and dimethyopropionic acid(DMPA) as the main materials.The influence of the molar ratio of isocyanate/hydroxyl(n-NCO/n-OH),amount of epoxy resin and trimethylolpropane(TMP) on properties of waterborne polyurethane was studied.The results showed that the modified waterborne polyurethane had ideal comprehensive properties when the molar ratio of n-NCO/n-OH was 6,the content of E-51 was 7 wt % and TMP content was 0.7wt%.
