Ultrathin Al foils to fabricate dendrite-free Li–Al anodes

In situ fabrication of Li–Al protection layer for lithium metal anodes has been achieved with ultrathin Al foil. The hybrid Li–Al/Li anodes demonstrate excellent cycling stability at plating current and capacity up to 8 mA cm⁻² and 4 mA h cm⁻².
