View Video Presentation: https://doi.org/10.2514/6.2021-2384.vid This work presents an extended example of how a geofence system can be used to prevent a UAS from violating its approved flight boundaries and safely integrate into the national airspace. The concept of a geofence system is introduced in the context of US national airspace laws and policies and a practical definition of a geofence is proposed. The methods are presented to enforce geofence boundaries for a single UAS and to coordinate an entire system of geofences for UAS Traffic Management (UTM).
