Use of Cephalosporins in Our Hospital During the Period 2007-2010

OBJECTIVE: To probe into the clinical use of cephalosporins for clinical references of rational drug use.METHODS: The cephalosporins used in our hospital during 2007-2010 period were analyzed in respect of varieties,consumption sum,DDDs and average daily cost(DDC) etc.RESULTS: Over the 4 years,the consumption sum of cephalosporins increased year on year,accounting for over 20% of total,of which,the third generation of cephalosporins and its compound preparations accounted for over 40%,however,the consumption sum of the forth generation of cephalosporins was declining.CONCLUSION: The use of cephalosporins in our hospital is reasonable basically.In order to delay the occurrence of the antibiotics resistance,it is urgent to further standardize the use of cephalosporins.
