Recovery of gastrointestinal function and motilin content change of patients with abdominal surgery affected by electroacupuncture

Objective To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture on recovery of gastrointestinal function and motilin content change of abdominal surgery patients. Methods 50 patients with abdominal surgery were randomly divided into two groups. 25 cases postoperation in control group received conventional therapy. 25 cases in treatment group were treated by Zusanli electroacupuncture on the basis of control treatment. Time of the first flatus and defecation of patients in two groups were observed after surgery. Levels of serum motilin in the preoperative 24 h and postoperative 24,72 h were compared in two groups. Results There was significant difference between two groups on the time of the first flatus and defecation( P 0. 05). The time in treatment group was shorter than that in control group. There was no significant difference between two groups on the level of serum motilin in the preoperative 24 h( P 0. 05). There was significant difference between before and after treatment in two groups on the level of serum motilin postoperative 24 h( P 0. 05). There was significant difference between two groups on the level of serum motilin postoperative 24 h( P 0. 05). The level of serum motilin in treatment group was higher than that in control group. Conclusion Postoperative conventional treatment combined with Zusanli electroacupuncture can promote recovery of gastrointestinal motility in patients,promote patients exhaust,defecation,improve motilin levels,and reduce gastrointestinal disorders.
