HPLC Determination of three components of sulfamethoxazole, sulfadiazine and trimethoprim tablets

OBJECTIVE To establish an external standard HPLC method for the determination of sulfamethoxazole, sulfadiazine and trimethoprim in sulfamethoxazole,sulfadiazine and trimethoprim tablets.METHODS The chromatographic coditions were as follows: Diamonsil (TM) C 18 (5 μm, 200 mm × 4.6 mm ), acetonitrile-water-phosphoric acid(50∶50∶ 0.1 ) as mobile phase.The mobile plase contained 3.5 g of sodium laury sulfate ,flow rate was 1 mL ·min -1 ,detection wavelength was 257 nm .RESULTS The mean recoveries of sulfamethoxazole sulfadiazine and metodopramide were 99.78% , 99.82% , 99.90% ,respectively.CONCLUSIONS This method is simple, accurate.
