摘要
This article provides an analysis of different traction motors for electric-bicycle (e-bike) applications, focusing on synchronous permanent magnet motors. The study aspire to be a guide for the selection of a proper motor geometry (rotor type, slot/pole ratio, winding configuration) based on the current state of the art. The work includes a comparison of different rotor typologies and winding configurations, carried out through finite element analysis and experimental tests. The article highlights the impact of the motor topology on the performance of the motor drive, and provides recommendations for the design of high-performance PM motors for e-bike applications.
