Fluorescent Dyes Containing Perylene and BODIPY Analogues

Significance The authors synthesize two PDI (perylene tetracarboxylic diimide) dyes ( 3 and 4 ) with red-shifted absorption and emission without decreasing their heat and photochemical stability by fusion with a BODIPY (4,4-difluoro-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza- s -indacene) analogue.
