Abstract The properties of SrTiO 3 :Pr 3+ :Al luminescent structure under the photoexcitation are investigated. The excitation spectra of luminescence and photocon‐ductivity are obtained. The relationship between the luminescence intensity and concentration of coactiva‐tor (Al) is explored. It is shown, that two centers of luminescence in the strontium titanate are formed. It can be explained by different location of praseodymium ions in the SrTiO 3 host lattice (Pr 3+ substitutes Sr 2+ and Pr 3+ substitutes Ti 4+ ).
