Flotation desulphurization performances of ethyl xanthate,butyl xanthate and isobutyl xanthate on high-sulfur bauxite were compared.The influences of collectors,flotation time,pulp density,pH value and ore grain size on desulfurization rate and alumina flotation recovery rate were studied.The results showed that ethyl xanthate had a certain floatation desulphurization ability,but the collector usage and flotation time were relatively high,and the alumina recovery rate was not more than 90%;butyl xanthate and isobutyl xanthate had strong ability of flotation desulphurization,the alumina recovery rate was higher than 90%,the collector usage and flotation time were not very high,which make them suitable for industrial application.The open circuit experiments of butyl xanthate and isobutyl xanthate showed that isobutyl xanthate had higher selectivity,and butyl xanthate had a strong collecting ability.
