Comparision of domestic MCC and Avicel as tablet excipient

OBJECTIVE The properties as tablet excipient of domestic microcrystatin cellulose(MCC) and Japan Avicel were investigated.METHODS The granularity ,fluidity ,swelling capacity and disintegration of MCC were determined and compared.The chlorphenamini maleas tablet was prepared by wetting-granule method and its disintegration was determined.RESULTS Some properties of domestic MCC were inferior to Avicel's. The disintegration of domestic MCC that was applied to wetting-granule method was superior to Avicel's.CONCLUSION The domestic MCC can not be applied to direct compression method but can be applied to wetting-granule method.
