Application Research of Piezoelectric Ceramic Components with Shear Modes in Ultrasonic Motors

Some kinds of piezoelectric ceramic components using piezoelectric d15 effect, such as ring type one, tube type one,and disk type one were introduced in this paper. The driving mechanisms of the piezoelectric ceramic components with piezoelectric d15 effect in the ultrasonic motors were also introduced.At last a new mechanism for exciting shear-bending vibration in piezoelectric ceramic rod were proposed.A mini-ultrasonic motor prototype with this concept was designed.
