Phenolic Constituents from the Fruits of Amomum tsao-ko(Zingiberaceae)

A new phenolic acylglucoside,2-methoxy-1,4-biphenol-1-O-[6-O-(3-methoxy-4-hydroxybenzoyl)]-β-D-glucopyranoside(1),together with 8 known compounds,3',5'-di-C-β-D-glucopyranosylphloretin(2),rutin(3),quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(4),pyrogallic acid(5),catechol(6),p-hydroxybenzoic acid(7),protocatechuic acid(8)and vanillic acid(9),was isolated from the methanol extract of the fruits of Amomum tsao-ko.Their structures were determined by detailed spectroscopic analysis,including 1D,2D NMR and MS techniques.The known compounds 2,3,5 and 7-9 were isolated from the titled plant for the first time.
