摘要
Abstract This study investigates the potential of nanocellulose materials as an effective material for achieving white coloration in building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). Various nanocellulose-based coatings were examined for their whiteness and compatibility with architectural applications. Among them, microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) coatings provide high whiteness suitable for architectural applications while maintaining minimal short-circuit current density loss. The results confirm that MFC allows design flexibility and enhances the visual appeal of BIPV modules, making them more compatible with building aesthetics. Additionally, encapsulation of MFC coatings further optimizes performance by reducing air gaps between fibers, offering a sustainable solution that combines aesthetic and functional improvements in photovoltaic integration.
