Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) is a common oral disease with complex pathogenic factors, different symptoms and various treatment methods. In the face of TMD patients, dentists should start from the perspective of general practice thinking, grasp the core connotation of "patient-centeredness", follow the biopsychosocial model, and make a comprehensive judgment from a multi-dimensional, multi-systemic, and multi-factorial perspective to reach a reasonable etiological analysis and an accurate diagnosis, in order to realize the personalized and holistic treatment of TMD under the guidance of general practice thinking and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
