作者:T. Asakuma and M. Yasuda Neuro-Ophthalmology Japan 2011 Vol. 28 Issue 3 Pages 303-309 摘要:Despite the importance of pathological myopia as one of the major causes of blindness, only two population-based studies, in China and Australia, have provided information on the prevalence of myopic retinopathy. In the current study, we investigated the prevalence of myopic retinopathy in a cross-sectional study of a general Japanese population. Of 1,890 subjects, myopic retinopathy was found in 33 participants, a prevalence of 1.7%. The prevalence of myopic retinopathy increased significantly with advancing age, and was higher in women than in men. These findings were similar to those of the other two studies, suggesting that not only greater axial length but other risk factors, such as genetic and environmental factors, may contribute to the pathogenesis of myopic retinopathy. |
