Abstract Phosphogypsum (PG) is industrial waste during wet-process phosphoric acid, with increasing emissions by tens of millions of tons annually. Presently, the disposal mode of PG stockpiling causes the combined pollution of water, soil, and air. The high impurity content of PG constrains its resource utilization process. Hence, PG purification treatment is the primary premise for PG application. This review focuses on the PG flotation purification process, and the essential properties of PG are analyzed, providing a theoretical foundation for its upgrading. The flotation reagents used in the whitening and purification of PG are comprehensively summarized. The flotation pretreatment and coupling process are also reviewed, which can be used for deep classification of PG for impurities removal. |
