其它 | The HiCLIMB passive seismic experiment (2002-2005) extended over a large part of the Himalayas and the south-central Tibetan Plateau recording a wide range of seismic activity. In southern Tibet, shallow seismicity occurs primarily north of the Yarlung-Tsangpo Suture (YTS) in the Lhasa Terrane along N-S trending graben structures. Here we concentrate on particularly focused seismicity along the Pumqu-Xianza rift (PQX). The PQX is known for its geothermal activity and an exceptionally high rate of seismicity, which began in 1980 following an Ms 6.2 earthquake. Between June 2004 and August 2005 HiCLIMB stations operating in this region recorded over 1,000 well-located earthquakes in the vicinity of the PQX; 12 of those, ranging in magnitude (mb) from 3.7 to 4.8, are also listed in the USGS NEIC catalogue. |
