Abstract Color fundus photography (CFP) has been used in clinical practice for several decades to visually observe the pathophysiological changes of the fundus. Of all the diagnostic imaging modalities, the most basic tool is CFP. Fundus cameras take high-resolution images of the fundus using human eyes' dark adaption and optical imaging capabilities. CFP provides a color or red-free image of the retina with high-resolution (primarily digital) with a wide field, making it a valuable tool to document normal structure and retinal pathology. Recent advances in fundus imaging are advantageous to reduce preventable visual morbidity through timely fundus screening. Digital CFP has evolved into a vital tool for the physical examination and screening of patients, particularly in association with telemedicine and artificial intelligence. |
