This paper report: results as mass loss on sand erosion of polymers and polymeric composites, and an analysis of test rig, erodent, and target properties affecting the erosion of these materials. Moreover the proposed criteria for controlling the erosion as mass loss were compared with experimental results obtained in DIASP and data found in the Literature. Finally for understanding the erosion mechanisms SEM micrographs of the erosion craters were studied and jet impingements (without particles) on flat and crater-shaped surfaces were visualized.
