Investigations were made of the gasdynamic and optical properties of erosion plasma jets under conditions of passage of laser radiation through them and without the laser radiation. It is shown that in processes of plasma formation under the effect of laser radiation of reduced intensity (q approximates - 10/sup 7/ W/cm/sup 2/) on the absorbing material, the heating of the decay products by the interacting laser radiation plays a significant role. The temperature distribution along the plasma jet formed during laser interactton is obtained. A temperature maximum on the outlet from the tube caused by heating of the erosion laser plasma by incident laser radiation during its one-dimension gasdynamic movement and indicating a screening of the surface from the laser radiation is detected. It is established that the gasdynamic structure of the plasma jet and the porosity of the plasma jet corresponding to the regular pulse of the laser radiation affects the screening effect. (tr-auth)
