The Application of DeepSeek in English language Classrooms

Artificial intelligence has ushered in numerous possibilities for contemporary educational situations. The advent of ChatGPT was one of the landmarks in last five years. Recently, the inception of DeepSeek has brought attraction and variation in Large Learning Model (LLMs) and in the Generative AI context. This investigation strives to look at the opportunities and challenges of employing DeepSeek in English language classes. The population for the study was from Pakistan whereas sample size were 100 learners studying in an English language classroom. Applying quantitative methods, the data were collected by a questionnaire and later SPSS25 was used for analysis. The results revealed that learners appreciated this latest AI tool and they found it a cheaper, accurate, supportive, effective, and easy-going conversational AI application. The learners preferred DeepSeek over ChatGPT because of several reasons. This also mirrored their tilt towards this AI integration for learning with open-access.
