摘要
This research paper proposes an integration of the Bass diffusion model with the classic Susceptible–Infectious–Recovered (SIR) compartmental model of infectious diseases. The combination of the Bass diffusion model and the SIR model is useful to gain insights into the intervention adoption behavior of the population based on imitation and innovation. The proposed model quantifies an optimal level of intervention adoption within the population, based on the epidemiological parameters. This optimal level serves as the threshold beyond which disease control within the community becomes achievable. In this work, we also identified influential adopters, encompassing both innovators and imitators. This identification is based on two distinct scenarios, providing a valuable avenue for the precise implementation of targeted interventions during disease outbreaks. The considered model presents a novel approach to comprehensively study intervention adoption behavior during infectious disease outbreaks, enhancing our understanding of the dynamics of disease transmission and adopting evidence-based interventions.
