The occurrence,composition and properties of shea butter were introduced and highlighted on its application in cosmetics.It can be used as matrix in skin-care cream,sun-screening lotion,hair-care products and some speciality cosmetics and acts as a role for both skin-care and make-up purposes.The market prospect of shea butter in cosmetic (industry) as well as food processing industry was briefed.
