In this paper, the process of wrinkle formation and wrinkle recovery were analyzed. It was found that the process of wrinkle formation was a relaxation process, which was related with time. The relative balance of wrinkle resilience and friction played an important role to the wrinkle recovery ability of woven fabrics. The initial wrinkle resilience at different distance to folding line was measured by self-made apparatus. It was found that the bigger the distance to folding line was,the smaller the initial wrinkle resilience was. With the increasing time of exterior pressure during the wrinkling, the initial wrinkle resilience would decrease continuously, and the wrinkle recovery angle would also decrease. The variation rule of the initial wrinkle resilience and the wrinkle recovery angle correlated with time of exterior pressure in a negative exponent relation.
