Objective:Tu explore whether chronic stress can induce nitrotyrosine in rat hippocampus and cortex. Methods:Forty rats were evenly divided into 2 groups:control group and chronic stress group (1 week,2 weeks and 3 weeks).Nirotyrosine in parietal cortex and hippocampus were observed and analyzed with immunohisto- chemical method. Results:Nitrotyrosine was detected in parietal cortex and hippocampus in chronic stress group, but not in control group. Conclusion:These findings indicate that protein tyrosine nitration may be responsible, at least in part, for some of neurodegenerative changes caused by chronic stress.
