Direct electrochemical oxidation of alkylarenes to aryl aldehydes and ketones

A green electrochemical oxidation of alkylarene benzylic C(sp 3 )–H to aryl aldehydes/ketones uses K 2 S 2 O 8 co-oxidant and water as oxygen source. The reaction shows broad substrate compatibility, good functional group tolerance, high site-selectivity.
