摘要
• The conversion of CO 2 into useful fuels or chemicals can tremendously reduce the energy crisis and concurrently diminish the environmental issues such as pollution, green-house effect and global warming, thus the reduction of CO 2 is considered to be green method. • Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) have evolved as one of the pioneer tool to answer the nature crisis and save environment. MOF compounds are emerging as excellent photo catalysts and ideal for the reduction of CO 2 due to their distinctive physical, chemical and structural characteristics. • In this review, we summarized the chemical and structural specification of MOF as photocatalyst. Also, the strategies for the construction of efficient MOF for photocatalytic reduction of CO 2 and for good light harvesting techniques are summarized. • The challenges, outlook development, and prediction related with MOFs for photocatalytic CO 2 reduction are discussed.
