This thesis describes current state of unmanned aerial vehicle management system and elaborates possible processes and methods for advanced management in the future. Today, drones are mostly used in uncontrolled airspace and at the same time concepts of application and integration into controlled airspace are being developed. Integration of drones into a controlled air space is a demanding process and must be carried out in the steps, notably because it is necessary to maintain high level of safety and to minimize the impact on commercial air traffic. For this reason, international organizations, aviation authorities and the aviation industry are collaborating on a number of projects that will allow full integration over the next few years. EUROCONTROL manages the U-space integration project in the European Air Space, while the FAA and NASA are in charge of drone integration into US airspace, with a project called Unmanned Aerial System Traffic Management (UTM). In this graduate thesis, the above mentioned projects are described in detail, as well as their implementation process, and airspace management at the full integration of drones in the controlled airspace.
