Theories of public-private partnerships

Where do the core assumptions that inform Public Private partnerships come from. This question is more trickier than it looks like. PPP is theoretical a hybrid that receives it theoretical inspiration from various theories. This chapter discusses these different theoretical ideas and identifies three clusters of ideas: PPP as monitoring game (the economic perspective) PPP as collaboration (a collaborative and network governance perspective) and PPP as sensemaking (a frame and institutional perspective).
