Discussed the dependence relation of apparent viscosity of polypropylene with different melt index on temperature and shear stress, investigated the correlation of shear stress and shear rate and compared the tensile-strength of polypropylene fiber. The results showed that the melt index had significant effect on polypropylene melt. At the same condition such as spinning and drawing, the high-tenacity fiber could be obtained by using lower melt index polypropylene.
