Conceptual Metaphor, Blended Space and Metaphor Interpretation

Metaphor is a very common linguistic phenomenon. Different scholars have different interpretations from different angles.Conceptual metaphor theory and blended space theory are among the most popular theories. They play a very important role in metaphor interpretation. After commenting on these two theories and making a contrast between their interpretative ability, this paper draws a conclusion: the two theories have different characteristics and they are complementary to each other.
