Determination of salidroside in Rhodiola crenulata and its counterfeits by RP-HPLC

Objective To establish an RP-HPLC method to determine salidroside in Rhodiola crenulata and its confused species in the market.Methods HPLC was used to determine the content of salidroside.The Phenomenex C18 column(250 mm×4.60 mm,5 μm) was applied with methanol-water(15∶85) as the mobile phase.The flow rate was 1.0 mL·min-1.The detection wavelength was 223 nm,and the column temperatrue was 25 ℃.Results The linear range of salidroside was 62.5-1 000 μg·mL-1,and the average recovery was 100.1%(n=6).Conclusion This is a simple and accurate method,which can be used for the determination of salidroside in Rhodiola crenulata and its confused species.
