The Application of C-reactive Protein in Severe Community Acquired Pneumonia of Elderly Patients

Objective To assess the clinical application of C-reactive protein(CRP) in community acquired pneumonia of older pa-tients.Methods There were 108 elderly patients with community acquired pneumonia,44 patients with severe pneumonia were enrolled as study group,64 patients with common pneumonia were enrolled as control group.The serum CRP of these cases were measured.Results The level of CRP in the control group was lower than the study group,the difference was significant(P 0.05).Conclusion The increase of CPR can be one of important signs in the diagnosis of severe com-munity acquired pneumonia.
