In order to research the relationship between the methacrylate content in acrylate size and the quality of sizing, the structural characteristics of acrylate size were investigated by infrared spectroscopy. The change of glass transition temperature and mechanical properties of size film were characterized by using dynamic mechanical thermal analysis. The result indicated that different methacrylate contents in acrylate size would not affect its chemical structure significantly, but caused the difference in its mechanical properties. Therefore it affected obviously the quality of sizing yarns.
