Paliperidone is indicated for the treatment of patients with schizophrenia and related disorders as a monotherapy and as an adjunct to other pharmacotherapies. Paliperidone exhibits affinity for α1, α2, D2, H1, and 5-HT2A receptors and is thought to improve symptoms by mixed central serotonergic and dopaminergic antagonism.
