摘要
Artificial intelligence (AI) has improved our knowledge and understanding of life sciences. It upgraded life from traditional methods to the most advanced techniques. This chapter provides an overview of AI and its involvement in four key domains of life sciences: food, nutrition, agriculture, and biotechnology. It highlights the involvement of AI from the start to its global emergence. In the food industry, AI is improving processing, packaging, safety, and quality control. It helps in the development of innovative products with good quality, texture, taste, color, and shelf life. With the help of AI, nutrition has been upgraded to the next level. Now, it becomes easy to suggest meals according to an individual&s;s health, lifestyle, and genetics. AI has significantly transformed the agriculture sector. Farmers can monitor crops, predict weather patterns, and control plant diseases or pest attacks at the early stage by using AI-powered tools, such as drones, sensors, and satellites. It helps to make smart decisions in the presence of fewer resources. These sustainable farming techniques and advancements increase the crop yield enough to feed a rapidly growing population. In medicine and biotechnology, AI helps researchers and doctors to make such treatments possible that could not have been imagined a decade ago. It brings accuracy and speed in disease diagnosis, drug discovery, and understanding of genetic material with the help of sequencing. These technologies can be expensive to set up, and not all areas have the knowledge or resources necessary to employ AI efficiently. As we proceed with these problems, careful solutions will be required. All things considered, this chapter demonstrates how AI is not only enhancing but also changing the biological sciences. A brighter, healthier, and more sustainable future is becoming possible thanks to AI, whether it is in the food we consume, the way we raise crops, or the therapies we receive.
