Identifying Yellow Essonite Aggregation Nondestructively by Raman Spectra

Yellow essonite aggregation is being in jewelry market,which has the appearance extremely like yellow jadeite′s,and the physics parameters near to idocrase′s,so it′s very difficult to identify them by common instruments.This paper was based on Raman spectra of aggregation and single crystal of essonite,jadeite,idocrase tested by BTR111-785MiniRam Raman spectroscope.It was found that aggregation and single crystal of essonite have the same diagnostic Raman shifts 874cm-1,543cm-1,370cm-1,and Raman acromion 820cm-1 at nearside of 874cm-1.Yellow jadeite has the diagnostic Raman shifts 1033cm-1,694cm-1,371cm-1.And yellow idocrase has the diagnostic Raman shifts 634cm-1,925cm-1.It could be effectively and nondestructively identify those three gemstones by contrasting their each diagnostic Raman shifts.
